Mountain Lions soar past Eagles 20-8 for program's first victory

WALESKA, Ga. – Young Harris College scored 10 goals in each half as the Mountain Lions recorded their first win in the women's lacrosse program history as they defeated Reinhardt University 20-8 Friday (Feb. 22) afternoon.

The Mountain Lions improved to 1-3 while the Eagles fell to 0-1. Young Harris will host its first-ever women's lacrosse match Sunday when they entertain Lindenwood University Sunday (Feb. 24) at 1 p.m. at the Frances Wood Wilson Soccer Field.
Taylor Lincoln, Jaclyn Kernohan, Jordana Freitas and Stephanie Wright were among the goal scorers for Young Harris, which led 10-6 at the half. The Mountain Lions limited the Eagles to just two goals in the second half.
"It was a great team win," said Young Harris head coach Katie Ilott. "We had a lot of contributions from everyone today for our first win."
