Erskine gets past Mountain Lions 20-7

DUE WEST, S.C. – Erskine College scored 14 unanswered goals in one stretch as the Flying Fleet defeated Young Harris College 20-7 in a women's lacrosse match Wednesday (Feb. 13) evening.

Erskine improved to 2-0 while Young Harris fell to 0-2. Young Harris returns to action Tuesday (Feb. 19) when they travel to Mount Berry, Ga., for a 3 p.m. contest against Berry College.

Young Harris' Jaclyn Kernohan scored her second goal of the match on a free-position shot with 15:15 remaining in the first half to pull the Mountain Lions within two goals (4-2). Erskine then scored the next 14 goals over the next 27 minutes to open an 18-2 lead midway through the second half.

Taylor Lincoln scored the five other goals for Young Harris. Carter Moore registered eight saves in goals for the Mountain Lions.
