Bulldogs spoil first-ever match for Mountain Lions 15-8

ATHENS, Tenn. – Tennessee Wesleyan College spoiled the inaugural women's lacrosse match by Young Harris College with a 15-8  victory over the Mountain Lions Saturday (Feb. 9) afternoon.

The Bulldogs improved to 1-0 while the Mountain Lions slipped to 0-1. Young Harris will return to competition Wednesday (Feb. 13) with a 5 p.m. contest against Erskine College in Due West, S.C.

The Bulldogs led 10-3 at the half, but the Mountain Lions played better in the second half as each team scored five goals.

Jaclyn Kernohan led Young Harris with three goals, while Taylor Lincoln and Jordan Freitas each put two in the back of the net. Nicole Webb accounted for the other tally. Stephanie Wright also contributed an assist for the Mountain Lions.
